Yard Work - New Year of Trees (a day early)
We've begun weeding out the large flower garden areas in the front. It isn't easy so we're doing a little at a time. Today my sister and I were challenged by a stump of an old bush...... It wasn't a bush. The base under the ground was six inches across and the main roots/base was down 3 feet.

Hallway repairs
All the paint jobs in the house are horrible. I would make a safe guess these people were blind or stoned when they painted.

Update
Just a note to say we're still working on stuff around the house. Pictures to follow - I'm working on painting the hallway and correcting the miserable paint job previous tenants did.
I'm working on a beadwork project and Ma is working on an embroidery piece.

Chores and Projects
I have a set of bookshelves that hold some knick-knacks and my daily Jewish things. I'm not happy with the open shelves in my neo-Victorian room. The plan is to make two doors about of plywood. I'm not sure if I'm going to dremel/carve some designs on them or wood burn them.
Any votes?
Today we cut some plexi-glass to fit Mom's curiosity table - much more sturdy since a flat surface is an invite to the cats. LOL
My sister has been sanding walls in the hallway to prep for primer white paint and then yellow to match the rest of the yellow in the living room and other side of the hall. We really haven't a clue why previous tenants painted two red squares on the yellow and did it badly.
So, we're repairing some dings in the walls, prepping for paint and the usual cleaning.
Today - the major project was digging dead bushes out of the front garden area. Between my sister and I we got four of them out. One more bush and some hoeing to do in that flower bed. Can only do a little at a time.

Reminder
My friend has been nagging me to make a commitment and I worked up this sign to remind myself:
I worked up the lettering and knotwork - woodburned them into a piece of thin wood and then painted the knotwork with antique copper and sealed it all.

Finished curiosity table
We're going to switch out the glass for plexiglass this week. If anything drops on the table, the plexiglass won't break and damage my great-great grandfather's blanket and baby clothes.
